January 20th, 2020 marked the beginning of yet another creative initiative by the Department of Communication, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, for the research enthusiasts among the collective. An interaction series, named Research Stories, is a friendly platform to discuss, learn and explore the vast space of research. The monthly gathering of researchers sharing their field experiences, hopes to break the boundaries of student-faculty constructs.
In the broad spectrum of social science, the researchers join from different disciplines to discuss the pragmatics of research. The interaction series jump-started with Ms. Neethu Parvathy, a Ph.D. scholar in the Department sharing her experience of working on her ethnographic study titled ‘Contemporary Vignettes of Tribal Life: A Study on Gender Identities and it’s Correlation with Cultural Settings and Media Consumption’.
Her setbacks, challenges and how she overcame them to now successfully publish two SCOPUS indexed articles within the short span of two years was the highlight of the interaction. The recent trends in research and path-breaking and award-winning research works were shared and discussed among the participants, including faculty members and Masters students of the Department.
The interaction series builds on the agenda to motivate and entertain research that builds a better class, a better society, and a better nation.
