A delegation of Amrita professors visited Purdue University on July 11, 2019. The team of professors included Dr. Krishnashree Achuthan, Dean PG programs; Dr. Balakrishnan Shankar, Dean, Faculty of Arts; Dr. Shyam Diwakar, Faculty fellow at Amrita Center for International Programs and Prof. Praveen Bist.
During their visit, they met with EPICS, a service-learning design program, that complements student skills in implementing practical solutions to problems in community, as well as visiting the Global offices and Purdue professors and their laboratories. Additionally, they visited the faculty of chemical engineering at the University. A tour of the robotics innovation center was also part of the visit.
Amrita’s Live-in-Labs® tackles immediate solutions in India’s remote villages and allows students and faculty to look into Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A collaboration between EPICS and Amrita could help strengthen efforts.
