The amFOSS club of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, conducted the “Learn Day” organized as part of Local Hack Day, conducted by MLH or Major League Hacking, in the Amritapuri Campus on October 12, 2019. MLH is an organisation that operates a league for student hackathons worldwide, having conducted over 200 hackathons in 16 countries, the “Learn Day” that was conducted in the Amritapuri campus by members from amFOSS had sessions on topics on “Introduction to AWS”, “Using Git and GitHub and Creating an Alexa Skill”. The hands-on sessions had the participants learn how to deploy their own application on Amazon Cloud Services, track and manage their projects using Git and GitHub and learn how to create an Alexa Skill which can be published and used by anyone, worldwide. The sessions were well received, with over 30 participants turning up for the event along with a goodies giveaway sponsored by MLH and GitHub.
