Amrita College of Nursing celebrated its 13th anniversary at the Health Sciences campus on November 2, 2015. The program started with prayer and lamp lighting of the lamp by Bri. Sai Bala, Nursing Director, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences. Ms. Shiney Williams, Final-year B.Sc. Nursing student welcomed the gathering.
Addressing the gathering during the inaugural ceremony, Prof. K.T. Moly, Principal, Amrita College of Nursing, recollected the major milestones and achievements of the college. The main attraction of the event was the announcement of the newly formed student clubs: Vipanchika- the music club, Naatyaamrutam– the dance club, Harithasree– the nature club, Swasthi– the Yoga and fitness club and Bodhi– the literary club. Dr. Prem Nair, Medical Director, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, officially inaugurated all the clubs. Bri. Bala, Nursing Director also addressed the gathering. Mr. Dheeraj K. Kumar, Third-year B.Sc. Nursing student delivered the vote of thanks.
The formal function was followed by two educational sessions for the students. The first session was on Life Goals by Dr. Raseena Padmam, Former Head of School of Behavioral Sciences, MG University, Kottayam. The second session on Multidisciplinary Nature of Environmental Studies was delivered by Mr. Thomas Sajan, Social Worker based in Ernakulum.
