Ayurveda Day was celebrated around the world on November 13, 2020, as a global initiative to promote and preserve Ayurveda. Ayurveda Day also coincided with Dhanwantari Day.
Amrita School of Ayurveda was a knowledge partner for this event, promoted by India Foundation’s Centre for Soft Power, with the support of the Ministry of Ayush and Indian Council for Cultural Relations.
The Ayurveda Day and Dhanwantari Day was celebrated at Amrita School of Ayurveda, Amritapuri, and commenced with the Ganapathy Homa’ which was performed at 7 AM and followed by Vishnu Sahasranama Parayanam, Dhanvantari 108 names Parayanam, Bhajans and Arati.
On the auspicious occasion, at 9.30 AM, “Purana Ghrita Samaharana” – a program to collect pure cow’s ghee and preserve it for more than 25 years for future use was performed by the Department of Panchakarma. The students and faculty members paid pranams to Lord Dhanwantari. The webinar started at 2 PM. Dr. Tanuja Nesari (Director, All India Institute of Ayurveda, New Delhi) and Dr. Amritabh Dutta (Sr Consultant, Sri Gangaram Hospitals, New Delhi) also took part in the webinar.
