Dr. Ram Manohar, Director of Amrita Centre for Advanced Research in Ayurveda and Principal Investigator of Indo-Italy Project relating Amrita’s cooperation with Università degli Studi di Milano (UNIMI), visited collaborators of Amrita in Italy. The Indo-Italy project is a collaboration of Amrita School of Ayurveda’s Dr. Ram Manohar with Prof. Antonella Della Fave, full professor of General Psychology at UNIMI.
Dr. Ram Manohar visited Milan and met with Prof. Elio Franzini, the Rector of UNIMI. He also delivered a lecture on “Successful Ageing and Lifestyle According to the Indian Tradition” during the Seminar on Physical and Mental Health in Ageing: An Integrated Perspective at the Polyclinic Hospital of the University of Milan. Prof. Ram Manohar also visited various labs and professors. His visit included a talk at Ayurvedic Point, a center run by Dr. Antonio Morandi in Milan, Italy.
Prof. Ram Manohar also visited Prof. Marco Bernasconi’s laboratory in Milano-Bicocca working on herbal drugs with Dr. Marta Bassi, Assistant Professor at Department of Psychology, University of Milan. Prof. Antonella and Dr. Martha will be visiting Amrita School of Ayurveda in November, 2018, in connection with the Bilateral Research Grant received jointly by the University of Milan and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.
During the visit, Dr. Ram Manohar met with Prof. Nicole Montano, a well-recognized expert of heart rate variability at University of Milan. Since Milan and Boston are the two major hubs in the world for heart rate variability studies, Prof. Nicole expressed his interest to collaborate on studies related to heart rate variability and Ayurvedic pulse diagnosis. Dr. Ram Manohar also visited the Office of International Affairs, University of Milan along with Prof. Antonella and had discussions with Dr. Monica Sinibaldi.
