Harshith Pabbati and Abhilash G were selected as Google Summer of Code 2019 Mentors this year. Google Summer of Code is an annual global program focused on bringing more student developers into open source software development.

The mentors work with the selected GSoC Student Developers on their projects for a period of 3 months, evaluating their work in three phases of evaluation. Harshith had not turned 18 to be eligible to participate in the Google Summer of Code as a student, but being an active contributor to his organisation’s project, the organization offered him the role of mentoring GSoC students as mentoring doesn’t have formal age restrictions. Harshith thus became one of the youngest GSoC Mentors.
