Ammachi Labs‘ new computer training center for Ichari village in Bihar was inaugurated by Smt. Rajeshwari Devi, school teacher, and Smt. Anita, Ward Member, on July 18, 2019. Other invited guests were Smt. Fulmathia Devi, Ward Member and Smt. Chinthamani Devi, Anganwadi teacher. Sri. Rajesh and Sri. Umesh, CREATE tuition teachers, supported the team to organize the event.
Community people including 31 students, 15 women, and 17 young boys participated in the event. Later on, the deployment team organized a ‘Train the Trainer’ program for the new computer teacher Shri. Pradeep Kumar and tailoring teacher Smt. Kanchan Devi.
After the inauguration ceremony, a community meeting was convened to discuss the effectiveness of Ammachi Labs. The Community Organizer (CO) addressed the Ichari village gathering and explained about the work done at Hadiabad village and encouraged Ichari villagers to follow the same. The CO informed the large group of people about how Hadiabad villagers applied for government schemes, gas connections, ration cards, health cards and pensions with help from Ammachi Labs’ deployment team.
The chief guest, retired school teacher Smt. Rajeswari Devi, emphasized the importance of education in her speech and said, “Currently children have to travel 10 km from the village for computer training. Now Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, Amma, gave us the opportunity to have a computer training center in our village. So everyone in the village should utilize the opportunity.”
