To mark the occasion of the 10th anniversary celebrations of Amrita School of Communication, a Media convention titled “Media Musings”, will be organized on the 20th of March 2015 at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Coimbatore campus.
A keynote address will be delivered by Mr. M. D. Nalapat, The Editorial Director of The Sunday Guardian, an expert in Security, Policy and International affairs, and UNESCO Peace Chair, Director of Geopolitics and International Relations at Manipal University and Senior Associate of the National Institute of Advanced Studies.
The media convention will also see round table discussions on the topics “Decibels or Debate?”, “Online Media: Challenge or Opportunity?” and “Money vs. Matter.” The panelists include Sunil Tandon, currently Director General of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, who has also been a radio broadcaster, prime time news anchor, news analyst and moderator; Amit Baruah an award winning journalist and Resident Editor of The Hindu, New Delhi, who has reported from South Asian countries and worked as South Asia Editor of BBC World Service and interviewed world leaders like Vladimir Putin, Gordon Brown and Tony Blair; Dr.Uma Vangal, Head of media and Entertainment, LV Prasad Film and TV Academy, a filmmaker, critic, freelance journalist and a Fulbright scholar; Bhagawan Singh, Executive Editor of Deccan Chronicle, a widely-travelled journalist with 37 years in the field who has covered politics, conflicts, natural disasters in South Asian countries and Europe.
