Amrita students are strongly encouraged to supplement their current academic experience by participating in a student exchange program with one of our partner universities. Through our semester’s exchange program (one or two semesters), ACIP aims to provide students with a meaningful overseas educational experience.
Students do not have to pay tuition for any of the exchange programs but are required to pay for their room and board and travel expenses. Recommended CGPA for the exchange program is 8.0 and above. The Center currently offers exchange programs with the following universities:

The India Research Internship and Global Study Program provide students the opportunity to enrol in regular courses in a wide variety of fields. The program is open to students at the Bachelors or Masters level.

UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, SAN DIEGO, (UCSD), USA
UC San Diego is the seventh oldest of the 10 University of California campuses and one of the top public research universities in the United States. UCSD is a student-centered, research-focused, service-oriented public institution that is ranked as one of the top 15 research universities in the world. UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO (UNM), USA
The Princeton Review listed UNM as a “Best Western College” and ranked the School of Engineering 14th out of the top 20 Graduate Engineering Programs. The University welcomes all international students currently studying for a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD degree. Amrita also offers Dual Degree and Joint PhD programs with the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UNM.
TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF MUNICH (TUM), GERMANY
The Technical University of Munich is #1 in Germany, as per QS World Rankings. TUM is one of the most research-focused universities in Europe and was the first university in Germany to be named a University of Excellence. The institution accepts international students at the UG, PG, Doctoral and Post-Doctoral level.
Telecom is one of the top engineering colleges in France and boasts high placement records. It is committed to producing students with skills in information and communication science and technology. The University has a strong focus on research and welcomes Masters students.

The University of Paderborn is a leading institution of higher education in Europe. It is well known for its computer science program, which was ranked among the top 3 programs among German universities and 16th among international programs. POLYTECHNICO UNIVERSITY DI MILANO (POLIMI), ITALY
POLIMI is currently #2 in the country and 28th in the world for Engineering and Technology, as per QS World Rankings. The University offers several undergraduate, graduate, and PhD programs in the fields of Engineering, Architecture and Design. POLIMI accepts students currently studying towards their Bachelors, Masters, or PhD degree.
MINES Paris Tech is one of the most prominent French engineering schools in France and is currently ranked 193 in the World. The University is reputed for the outstanding performance of its research centers, its selectivity, and the quality of its international partnerships with prestigious universities, which include Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), California Institute of Technology (Caltech), Shanghai Jiao Tong University, University of Hong Kong, National University of Singapore (NUS), Novosibirsk State University, Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and Tokyo Tech. MINES Paris Tech is open to accepting students who are currently pursuing their Bachelors or Masters.
INSTITUT MINES-TÉLÉCOM BUSINESS SCHOOL
Institut Mines-Télécom Business School (formerly Telecom Ecole de Management before its rebranding in 2018) being a part of Institut Mines-Telecom (the number ONE group of engineering and management graduate schools in France) is a highly selective and prestigious, public, socially inclusive Management School called The Grandes École.
GRONINGEN UNIVERSITY, NETHERLANDS
Groningen is one of the oldest and largest universities in the Netherlands and is a member of the distinguished international Coimbra Group of European universities. According to a student survey, the University was voted the Best University in Netherlands for the third time in a row. Groningen has nine faculties, nine graduate schools, 27 research centres and institutes, and more than 175 degree programmes. The University welcomes international students currently pursuing their Bachelors, Masters, or PhD.
Established in 1983, Halmstad University is often referred as ” The Innovation Driven University”. The university is popular for its reality-based training and small student groups. It offers about 40 degree programs, and 130 courses at different levels. It offers education and research in three particularly strong areas such as Innovative Sciences, Information Technology and Health and lifestyle. Their research groups focus on Biology and Environmental Sciences, Innovation Technology and Entrepreneurship, Health, Welfare and Sports, Information Technology, and Arts and Sciences.
NATIONAL ILAN UNIVERSITY, TAIWAN
Founded in 1926, National Ilan University was one of the very first institutions of higher education in Taiwan. It has four colleges, there are 13 departments and 17 graduate institutions. Also, at present, the university has 150 laboratories, one computer center, a number of computerized language labs, and an Analysis and Technology Consulting Center which cooperates with local industries on their manufacturing and production.
DANISH SCHOOL OF MEDIA & JOURNALISM, DENMARK
The Danish School of Media and Journalism (DMJX) is the oldest and largest of the higher educational institutions offering journalism education in Denmark, and has well-established contacts and strategical partnerships both nationally and internationally. The Danish School of Journalism offers advanced undergraduate programmes in English within Photojournalism, Multimedia, World Politics, Public Relations, Communications Design, etc.
DARMSTADT UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES, GERMANY
The Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (German: Hochschule Darmstadt), also known as h_da, is a University of Applied Sciences located in Darmstadt, Germany.h_da actively supports knowledge exchange and technology transfer. Partners from industry, academia and regional institutions are regularly invited to university events to facilitate networking and sustain ongoing research partnerships.
The university of Trento is an Italian university located in Trento and nearby Rovereto. It has been able to achieve considerable results in didactics, research, and international relations[1] according to CENSIS and the Italian Ministry of Education.[2]
Aalto University is a university primarily located in Greater Helsinki, Finland. It was established in 2010 as a merger of three major Finnish universities: the Helsinki University of Technology (established 1849), the Helsinki School of Economics (established 1904), and the University of Art and Design Helsinki (established 1871).
More than 1,100 engineers graduate every year from Grenoble INP, making it France’s biggest grande école. Founded in 1339, it is the third largest university in France with about 45,000 students and over 3,000 researchers.
Uppsala University (Swedish: Uppsala universitet) is a research university in Uppsala, Sweden, and is the oldest university in Sweden and all of the Nordic countries still in operation, founded in 1477.[4] It ranks among the world’s 100 best universities in several high-profile international rankings.[5]
UNIVERSITY OF TWENTE, NETHERLANDS
The University of Twente, is a public research university located in Enschede, Netherlands. It offers degrees in the fields of social sciences, exact sciences and is highly specialized in engineering. The degree programs at the University of Twente range from business administration and psychology to applied physics, engineering and biomedical technology.
LUDWIG MAXIMILIAN UNIVERSITY, GERMANY
Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (also referred to as LMU ) is a public research university located in Munich, Germany.They have about 15% of International students graduating every year from an approximate student population of 51,000. From distinguished research grant winners to undergraduate students, all members of the LMU Munich community are involved in research for the benefit of society at large. The University is particularly noted for providing excellent conditions for innovative basic research, both within individual disciplines and through inter- and transdisciplinary collaborations across various fields of knowledge.
DURBAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, SOUTH AFRICA
With approximately 23 000 students, the Durban University of Technology (DUT) is the first choice for higher education in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN). It is located in the beautiful cities of Durban and Pietermaritzburg (PMB).
Terrassa School of Industrial, Aerospace and Audiovisual Engineering (ESEIAAT) is a higher education institution belonging to the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). With over 100 years of expertise in training engineers, the School is recognised for the quality of its programmes and ranks high in Spanish academic rankings. Its mission is to help its students to develop leadership skills and the ability to innovate in various fields of engineering.
Located in the city of Barcelona, ETSETB is one of the Schools that is part of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Technical University of Catalonia). ETSETB has over 3000 students (more than 600 new students and 400 graduates per year), over 300 teachers (including about 250 doctors). It is one of the largest telecommunications engineering schools in Spain.
EEBE is high-quality school in the field of engineering for industry in the 21st century, acting as an agent of transformation in collaboration with the socio-economic fabric of Catalonia and with a strong international focus. The school’s other major line of activity is research, innovation and knowledge transfer. In total, 26 research groups and cross-disciplinary research units are located here.
UPC is Spain’s #1 institution for Engineering and Technology and is 77th in the world, as per QS World Rankings. The University welcomes students currently working towards their Bachelors, Masters, or PhD degrees. Amrita also offers a Dual Degree program in Information and Communication Technology with UPC. For the exchange program, UPC ETSEIB has engineering courses in Mechanical Automatic Control, Electrical , Industrial, Chemical, Material, Nuclear, Automotive, Logistics, and Environmental Engineering.
This school offers wide and attractive trainee-ships to Undergraduate and Masters Students. They have agreements with many companies and institutions from different sectors that provide about 250 trainee-ships every academic year. About 400 BSc and MSc and 40 PhD students complete their studies and get placed in many national and international companies every year.
The School of Agricultural, Food and Biosystems Engineering (Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Agronómica, Alimentaria y de Biosistemas, ETSIAAB) carries out an intense research work, structured into thirty-two Research Groups, some of which perform their activity in one of the three Research Centres associated to the ETSIAAB.T he areas of research are: food industry, plant production, animal production, biotechnology, plant breeding, genetic resources, rural engineering and modelling, natural and environmental resources, economy, management and rural development.

The University of Barcelona (Catalan: Universitat de Barcelona, is a public university located in the city of Barcelona, Catalonia in Spain. UB is widely considered to be the best university in Spain and one of the most prestigious universities outside the English-speaking world. Established on 3 November 1450, it is the oldest university in Catalonia and one of the oldest universities in the world. With 63,000 students, it is one of the biggest universities in Spain.
The University of Milan known colloquially as UniMi or Statale, is a higher education institution in Milan, Italy. It is one of the largest universities in Europe, with about 60,000 students, and a permanent teaching and research staff of about 2,000.
The University of Milan has ten schools and offers 140 undergraduate and graduate degree programmes, 32 Doctoral Schools and 65+ Specialization Schools. One Nobel laureate in physics, Riccardo Giacconi, as well as one Fields medalist, Enrico Bombieri, studied at the University.
