Bio

Dr. A Sumesh is an accomplished academician and researcher who currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore. Dr. Sumesh has over fifteen years of expertise in engineering research and education, and he has significantly impacted the field’s expansion and advancement.

Sumesh earned his mechanical engineering bachelor’s degree from Pondicherry University, later went on to earn his manufacturing engineering master’s degree from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in Coimbatore. He later earned his PhD in welding signature analysis using machine learning models from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in Coimbatore.

Weld signature analysis, condition monitoring, manufacturing system simulation, DOE, and optimisation are some of Dr Sumesh’s areas of research interest. He has presented his research findings at various national and international conferences and has published several research papers in reputable international publications. He has won several grants and accolades for his contributions to the field of research, which has only served to motivate him.

Sumesh is a renowned professor for his creative and successful teaching strategies. He has played a significant role in the department’s growth and introduction of new programs and courses. Additionally, he has supervised several undergraduate and master’s thesis students and has been actively involved in mentoring students. He is currently serving as a committee member and mentoring one PhD student in addition to helping other scholars. The institution has acknowledged his accomplishments in the area of engineering education and received numerous awards for his exceptional teaching abilities.

Dr. Sumesh has several community service commitments in addition to his academic duties. Additionally, he delivered various lectures to the engineering community to advance the teaching of science and technology. In conclusion, Dr. A Sumesh benefits the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. The recognition and respect he has gained from his peers and students for his tremendous contributions to engineering teaching and research. His perseverance and commitment to the cause serve as both a testament to his love of engineering education and an encouragement to others.
