Bio

Dr. Soumya G Nair is an Assistant Professor (level 10) in the Department of Physics at the Amrita School of Physical Sciences, Amritapuri. Since 2011, she has been a member of the Physics department as a teaching faculty for the past 14 years. She earned a B.Ed in Physical Sciences and an MSc in Physics from Mahatma Gandhi University. Dr. Nair earned her doctorate from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Her thesis, ‘Ferroelectric and Magnetoelectric Studies of Doped and Co-Doped Bismuth ferrites’ investigate the increased multiferroicity of bismuth ferrites as a result of doping and co-doping with manganese and holmium. Her research interests include the synthesis, characterisation, and device fabrication of multiferroic perovskite materials, utilising material informatics and computational and experimental techniques.
