Bio

Dr. Soumya G Nair serves as an Assistant Professor (level 10) at the Department of Physics of Amrita School of Physical Sciences, Amritapuri. She has been a teaching faculty at the Physics department for the past 13 years since she joined in 2011. She received her MSc in Physics and B.Ed in Physical Sciences from Mahatma Gandhi University. Dr. Nair completed her PhD from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.Her thesis titled ‘Ferroelectric and Magnetoelectric studies of doped andco-doped Bismuth ferrites’ studies the enhanced multiferroicity of bismuth ferrites due to doping and co-doping with holmium and manganese. She qualified the State Eligibility Test in Physics in 2014.Her current area of research includesexperimental and computational simulation of multiferroic perovskite materials and theirapplications in spintronics and energy storage devices. She has been teaching various courses in Physics for Btech and Integrated MSc at the undergraduate level since 2011.
