Bio

Dr Soumya Jagadeesan is an Additional Professor in the department of dermatology and consultant dermatologist at Amrita Institute working for 11 years now.
She is deeply interested in inflammatory skin disorders and provide specialized care for complex dermatological problems including psoriasis, vitiligo, pemphigus, eczemas, including the latest advancements in the field in testing and therapeutics including biologics. Skin allergies are an area of interest and so are pigmentation and hair disorders including severe alopecia, where we give immunotherapy.
Advanced laser treatment for pigmentation, hair removal, skin rejuvenation and scarring is also offered along with other cosmetology services.
She works as an editorial board member in various national and international journals and have been awarded scholarships from the American Academy of Dermatology and European Academy of Dermatovenereology. She has published more than 60 research articles in journals and has edited and written textbook chapters. She is an avid quizzer and has been a national quiz master twice for dermatology post-graduates and has conducted multiple quizzing events for dermatologists. She has also been a recipient of various awards and grants for her research including the Banerjee Gold medal, BKH Nair award and IADVL and Loreal research grants.
