Bio

Dr. Siddharth Bhardwaj is currently serving as a faculty member at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore. His research interests include ergonomics, human factors, human motor adaptation, and rehabilitation robotics. He has obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Aligarh Muslim University, where his research focused on the development of EMG-based control for lower limb rehabilitation devices.
Before joining Amrita, Dr. Bhardwaj had three years of experience working as a post-doctoral fellow at IIT Gandhinagar. During his time at IIT Gandhinagar, he contributed to the development of a passive back exosuit for manual lifting tasks, investigated sensory augmentation and VR technology for improving balance and control, and secured a grant from DST under the Cognitive Science Research Initiative (CSRI) to investigate the role of multimodal cues for improving postural balance (2021-2023).
Dr. Bhardwaj’s current research is focused on sensory augmentation and human performance augmentation. His work has been published in various journals, including Experimental Research, Human Movement Science, Wearable Technologies, Robotics and Automation Letters, Journal of Occupational Safety and Ergonomics, Disability and Rehabilitation, Journal of Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery, WORK: A Journal of Prevention, Assessment & Rehabilitation, etc.
