Dr. Prasath Selvaraj currently serves as Assistant Professor at the Department of Social Work, School of Social & Behavioural Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus.
Dr. Prasath Selvaraj is dedicated to reshaping social work education through hands-on, immersive approaches. Holding a PhD in Social Work from Pondicherry Central University, with the distinction of qualifying for UGC-NET and obtaining a Senior Research Fellowship, Dr. Prasath’s academic and professional focus lies in fostering behavioral change interventions, community health, and environmental responsibility. His work blends experiential learning and interdisciplinary methods to instill social responsibility and resilience in his students.
Dr. Prasath’s research focuses on wellbeing, nature connection, environment and digital behaviours, particularly in relation to gender and young adults. His published work includes studies on nature relatedness, mental wellbeing, and pro-environmental behavior, reflecting a commitment to understanding the human-nature connection in a fast-evolving digital age.
