Bio

Dr. Megha S. Kumar received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Kerala in the year 2015 and M. Tech. in Communication and Signal Processing from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore in the year 2017 respectively. While she was pursuing her Bachelor’s degree, on the basis of academic merit, she was selected for an Employability Enhancement and Training Program, which is a unique industry oriented academic initiative of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in collaboration with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL)to train young engineers. After successfully completing the theory & hands on program which lasted for a duration of 2.5 years, at the Regional Telecom Training Centre, Thiruvananthapuram, she was certified as Silver, Gold and Platinum Certified Engineer with excellent proficiency. She has also bagged various cash prizes and fellowships during her entire academic period. She was an active member in Intercollege Technical Fest and has also bagged first position in the category of paper presentation for the topic, ‘Virtual Reality’. In the same year, 2017, after completing her Master’s program, she joined for her doctoral program, and started working in Computational Optimization and Innovations Lab(COIL) in the area of Physical Layer Secret Key Generation for Wireless Networks.

She has published her articles in reputed SCI and Scopus indexed journals having Scopus percentile above 90. One of her articles that was published in the reputed AdHoc Networks journal was featured in Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham newsletter in 2021, (https://www.amrita.edu/news/amrita-research-scholar-publishes-paper-ad-hoc-networks-journal/).
Post submission of her doctoral thesis in the year 2022, she joined as Junior Data Analyst in an R & DOrg.(startup) in Trivandrum which focuses on developing highly innovative hardware and software based technological solutions by using the core concepts of Wireless Communication and Signal Processing. After a very short stint there, she joined the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus on 1st July 2022, where she is currently an Assistant Professor. She completed her Ph.D.in the year 2023. She is also the recipient of the prestigious Amrita Innovation & Research Awards (AIRA) in theyear2024.
Her main area of research interest lies in Wireless Communication, Signal Processing and its Applications, specifically, 5G and 6G Wireless Technologies, Millimeter-Wave and Terahertz Communication (THzCom) Systems, Multi rate Signal Processing for Communication Systems, Physical Layer Security for Wireless Networks, Cognitive Security, Vehicular Communications and Networks, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Internet of Things with Wireless Technology, Tactile Internet, and Artificial Intelligence.
