Bio

Dr. Natarajan K. U. currently serves as Professor in the Department of Cardiology, School of Medicine, Kochi. Dr K U Natarajan graduated from the Madras Medical College in 1989. He completed his post graduation in General medicine from Madras Medical College in 1993.

He completed his DM Cardiology training in the prestigious Sri Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and technology, Trivandrum( a centre of national importance ) in 1997. He is a Diplomate of the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi, in the disciplines of Internal Medicine & Cardiology.

After his brief stint as a clinical research scholar in Milwaukee, University of Wisconsin, USA, he started the sub speciality of Electrophysiology along with his mentor in 2000. The division of cardiac electrophysiology(EP) at AIMS is one of the Leaders in the field in the country, having performed close to 4000 ablations for permanent cure of complex cardiac rhythm disorders, implanted more than 5000 devices ranging from pacemakers, implantable defibrillators and Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy(CRT).

Dr. K. U. Natarajan is one of the few cardiologists in India that are proficient both in Interventional Cardiology and interventional Cardiac Electrophysiology . It is noteworthy that he is a proctor for training young cardiologists in the country on implantation of complex cardiac devices .
