Bio

Dr. Shanti serves as a Senior Assistant Professor in the Department of Shalakya Tantra at the Amrita School of Ayurveda. She completed her Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) from Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science and Research, Bengaluru, and her M.S. in Shalakya Tantra (Netra Roga) from the Amrita School of Ayurveda, where she continues to contribute through diverse academic, clinical, and research roles.

She began her professional career in 2010 as a Nadi Vaidya, travelling extensively across Karnataka to provide clinical services. From 2012 to 2013, she served as a Medical Officer at Amrita Ayurveda Hospital. Following the completion of her postgraduate studies, she joined the Amrita School of Ayurveda as a regular faculty member in November 2017 and has been serving the institution since then.

In addition to actively engaging in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, Dr. Shanti regularly conducts sessions on Integrated Amrita Meditation for postgraduate students. She also consistently participates in medical camps organized by Amrita Ayurveda Hospital, contributing to community healthcare initiatives.

She is currently pursuing her PhD at the Amrita School of Ayurveda. Her areas of interest include Ayurvedic Ophthalmology, clinical application of fundamental Ayurvedic principles in ophthalmic practice, use of advanced diagnostic methods in ophthalmology, neuro-ophthalmology and community ophthalmology.

Her area of specialization is Ayurvedic Ophthalmology, with a strong focus on clinical application and research. She has published several research articles in SCOPUS-indexed journals, primarily addressing topics related to Ayurvedic ophthalmic practice. These publications reflect her extensive clinical experience as well as her research expertise in the field.
