Bio

Dr Jayanthy has two decades of experience in ENT with a special interest and expertise in Pediatric Laryngology [airway and swallowing disorders in children].Before her stint in Amrita, she has practiced in prominent hospitals viz. Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad, KIMS, Trivandrum and Lisie Hospital, Kochi. She joined AIMS, Kochi in 2013 after extensive training in Laryngology under Dr Jayakumar Menon, a pioneer in the field, in the country. She got trained in Pediatric Laser in Airway from Lausanne, Switzerland, among the most renowned centres in the field. To hone her skills, she has done observerships / training in Great Ormond Street Hospital, London [Pediatric Laryngology], Palacky University Olomouc, Czech Republic [Endoscopic Ear Surgery] ,Dell Children’s medical Center ,Central Texas ,USA [pediatric dysphagia] and Ang Mo Kio-Thye Hua Kwan Hospital,Singapore for [Neuromuscular electrical stimulation for dysphagia certification].She was an integral part of the first dedicated dysphagia [swallowing disorder] clinic in the country and started division of pediatric dysphagia clinic [ swallowing disorders in kids] in AIMS, Kochi, again first in the country.

Awards and recognitions

Dr Jayanthy has publications in highly ranked international journals in Pediatric Otolaryngology and ENT. Her papers have won gold medals in postgraduate paper presentations in Kerala State ENT conference 2018 and 2022, Larynx 2022  Kochi, third prize in International Dysphagia Conclave, Pune 2023, International Symposium on Audiological Medicine 2024, and accepted for presentation in QUAD conference 2022, Cincinnati, USA.

She has been an invited faculty for PHONOCON, Annual Conference of Phonosurgeons of India from 2018 to 2024.
