Bio

Dr. Varnita Verma is an Assistant Professor in the School of Artificial Intelligence at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetam, Coimbatore. Prior to this, she served as an Institute Post-Doctoral Fellow in the School of Interdisciplinary Research at IIT Delhi, contributing to a DRDO-funded project on wearable soft robotics for upper-limb muscle power augmentation. From April 2021 to June 2022, she was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at GD Goenka University, Gurugram. Dr. Verma holds a Ph.D. and M.Tech. in Robotics Engineering from the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun. Her doctoral research focused on the design and analysis of ex-vivo minimally invasive robotic systems for surgical applications.

Her current research interests include soft robotics, medical robotics, and nonlinear control systems. With three funded projects completed, two patents granted, and extensive experience in teaching and mentoring, Dr. Verma brings a wealth of expertise and dedication to advancing the field of robotics and artificial intelligence
