Bio

Dr. Puneet Dhar is a Surgical Gastroenterologist with more than 30 years experience in the superspecialty. After his medical training in Delhi, he went for a fellowship in Transplant Surgery at Cambridge University Hospitals Trust, UK and also worked there as a locum consultant. He did his MCh from the GB Pant Hospital – as the first MCI recognised centre in the country and subsequently worked there as a Specialist before moving to the prestigious Amrita Institute of medical Sciences to setup what became one of the largest and best GI surgery centres in the country. Before joining Amrita Hospital Faridabad, he also setup the department at AIIMS Rishikesh as Professor and Head and also served as the Dean of Student Welfare there.

He has published extensively in this field in journals and book chapters, and has been a reviewer and on the editorial board of several medical journals and societies. He has been an active member of several professional societies and served on their executive committees. He is the President elect of the Indian Chapter of International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association. He is also the webinar coordinator for National Board of Examinations and has been on the Governing Body of Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences. He has also been involved in charitable activities of the Amrita Math as well as the Rotary and served in various medical and non-medical admin capacities and boards. He has also been a regular organisier CMEs and medical conferences for scientific Associations as well as many teaching activities including online and through Social Media.
