Bio

Dr. K. V. Arun completed his BDS and MDS from Government Dental College, Chennai in 1996. He was employed in Ragas Dental College and Hospital Chennai, where he started as Lecturer and ended up as Professor & Head of the Department. He is currently working in Amrita School of Dentistry as Professor & Head of the Department. He has 25 years of clinical experience in Periodontology & Implantology and is one of the few practitioners of microscopic Periodontal procedures in the country.
He has authored textbooks titled “Molecular Biology of Periodontium” for Postgraduates and “Exam Preparatory Manual for undergraduates in Periodontology”. He has several international and national publications including Periodontology 2000.
He is a recognized PhD guide of The Tamilnadu Dr MGR Medical University and has obtained several grants from government agencies. He has lectured and conducted surgical demonstrations/hands – on workshops in national level fora on various aspects of periodontal surgery and implantology.

    • Root coverage procedures (use of palatal fibroblast seeded collagen membranes in the treatment of grade 3-4 recession – dissertation accepted, paper under review)
