Bio

Dr. Prashanth B N joined Department of Mechanical Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru campus on 21st July, 2010 and is currently serving as Assistant Professor (Selection Grade). He had exhibited more than 10 projects in National and International exhibitions and have published nearly 30 National and International articles in the area of Product Lifecycle Management, Robotics, Automobile, Industrial Automation, Renewable Energy Systems etc. He has guided more than 25 B.Tech. student projects out of which 10 projects were sponsored by Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. He has achieved remarkable expertise with Robot Programming, CNC Part Programming, AM Software, Windchill PLM Solution, Minitab, Ansys, AutoCAD, Creo, Catia, AutoDesk Inventor and Fusion 360 utilization. He has successfully delivered talks on How to Operate a Scientific Calculator, Advancements in 3D Printing Technology, Additive Manufacturing, Pneumatics and its Role in Automation and so on. He has successfully organized workshops on IoT with Cloud Computing, Mini-Drones, Virtual Reality, Quadruped Robot, Biped Robot, Ornithopter, Industrial Automation – PLC & SCADA and so on. He has also attended various Faculty Development Programs such as Automation and IoT, Industrial Automation, Industry 4.0, Additive Manufacturing, Internet of Things, Management Information System, Systems Engineering, Product Design, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and so on. Additionally, he is handling various roles and responsibilities such as Ph.D. Admissions Coordinator, Member for Board of Studies, Member of Malpractice Consideration Case Committee, CAM/Robotics Lab Incharge, NAAC and NBA Criteria coordinator (Dept. of ME), Mentor for JIDO – The Industrial Automation Club, Mentor for EPIC – The Movie Club and so on.
