Dr. Biju Balakrishnan obtained both his BDS and MDS degree from the prestigious Govt. Dental College, Thiruvananthapuram, after clearing the state entrance exam and All India Post Graduate (AIPG) entrance exam, respectively through merit.

He has more than 15 years of clinical experience and 13 years of academic experience, and is a guide to post graduate students for the last 7 years.

He is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI), USA.
Associate Fellow of Asian Academy of LASER Therapy (AALT), Singapore.
Speaker for CDE programmes conducted for Govt. Dental Surgeons and Indian Dental Association.

  • Project proposal titled “Antibacterial, Angiogenic and Osteogenic Bone Cement Beads for the Treatment of Periodontal Infections and Simultaneous Regeneration” was submitted to Department of Biotechnology, Government of India for funding on 21.01.2021 – Project cost Rs. 40,00,000. The project proposal has been accepted for funding.
  • Project proposal titled “Dental Decellularized Matrix based Composite Graft for the Management of Periodontal Disease and Extraction Sockets” was submitted to Department of Health Research, Govt.of India for funding on 23.11.2020 – Project cost Rs.58,11,160.
