Bio

Balmukund Singh currently serves as Research Associate at the Amrita Center for Wireless Networks & Applications (Amrita WNA), Amritapuri Campus. He is working on Landslide early warning system at AmritaWNA. He completed his Postgraduate Degree in Geology from University of Delhi. He has worked geo-scientific field work in various parts of the Himalayas and Western Ghats. His research work at Amrita has given him an opportunity to serve the mountain people who are at risk to natural hazards during extreme events.

His role as a Geologist and Geophysicist is to study the rock and soil properties of the site, Geological mapping in the study area, and geophysical data analysis and interpretation.

He has worked in the Eastern as well as Western parts of Himalayas, getting exposed to all the three divisions of the Himalayan Geology. He has also worked on Electrical Resistivity Tomography for mapping the bed rock in Kalimath Uttarakhand and groundwater in Delhi NCR.
