Bio

With over nineteen years of experience in the field of Pediatrics, Dr Aparna Chakravarty is competent in the management and preventive care of various neonatal and pediatricillnesses. She brings with her state-of-the-art work experience in pediatrics from India and abroad. She worked at one of the best children’s hospital in the world at SickKids, Toronto and strives to improvise pediatric healthcare with a holistic approach. Over the years her clinical practise is to enhance rational treatment and family-centric care. She is an ardent listener and observer to child health problems. She believes in good communication skills and empathy while addressing any health condition.

She has over 10 years of experience in medical teaching of undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD) medical students and allied health services. During her academic career she has mentored and guided many medical students and students from allied health services and actively involved in medical curriculum.

Her area of super-specialisation is Infectious Diseases. She completed her Fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases from the University of Toronto, Canada and MSc Infectious Diseases from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London. She is passionate about optimal and rational antibiotic use. She has been an active member of the Hospital Infection Control Committee and Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee. Sheled collaborative multi-centric research projects and vaccine clinical trials.

She has additional training in – Infection Control Fellows Course, Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA); Pediatric Antimicrobial Stewardship, Society of Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA);Clinical Vaccinology Course, National Foundation of Infectious Diseases (NFID), Chicago; CHF-INCLEN Essential Vaccinology Course, India; Faculty Development Program (Univ of Toronto);ICMR/NIE Basic Course of Biomedical Research;Revised Basic Workshop in Medical Education Technologies, Delhi.
She believes in life-long learning and involves herself in training for self-improvement.
