Bio

Dr. Akhilesh K, a highly skilled clinician, educator and researcher, with a vast experience of over 12 years, specialising in respiratory medicine at Amrita School of Medicine, Kochi. He is expert in managing a wide range of respiratory conditions such as airway diseases, complex tuberculosis cases, pleural and interstitial diseases and infectious lung diseases. Dr. Akhilesh plays a major role in public health initiatives. As Vice Chairman of the State Task Force, he helps the state’s efforts to eliminate tuberculosis (TB). He’s also part of a group working on managing latent TB in Kerala Drug Resistant TB committee, State difficult to treat TB committee and operational research committee.As Chief Coordinator of the Amrita Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program, he supervises the efforts to help people with lung problems. Dr. Akhilesh is also a significant figure in the serving as the Nodal Officer, National TB Elimination Programme, Amrita School of Medicine, Kochi.
