Bio

Dr. Angan Sengupta currently serves as an Associate Professor at Amrita School of Business, Bangalore. He is also the chair of the Ph. D. program at Amrita School of Business in its Bangalore campus.

Dr. Angan completed his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Economics from Calcutta University and Masters in Population Studies from International Institute for Population Sciences.

He earned his Ph. D. from Maastricht University, The Netherlands on Health Economics and Policy. He has sixteen years of research and twelve years of teaching experience at Post-graduate and Ph. D. level. Dr. Angan has been teaching Economics of Health and Healthcare for the NPTEL portal, as well as on the Swayam Prabha platform.

Dr. Sengupta has been supervising six doctoral scholars.

He has published a number of articles in highly reputed journals. Dr. Angan earned UGC Junior Research Fellowship and a coveted fellowship from TIFAC, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India to conduct research as a Young Summer Scientist in IIASA, Austria.

Dr. Angan was also a visiting fellow at Harvard University. He has been professionally associated with several eminent institutes such as ISEC, Bangalore, Institute of Health Management Research, Bangalore, IIM Bangalore and AC Nielsen.

His research interests include Health Economics, Development Economics, Migration, Business Demography, Epidemiology, and Public Policy.
