Summary of event:
Department of Computer Science has organized a webinar on Webinar on Open Source Performance testing for the UG & PG students of Computer Science department. The main aim of this is to make participants aware of Performance testing with an industry oriented perspective to increase employability skill.
Mr. Akarsha K. K., Performance Test Engineer, Excelsoft Technologies, Mysuru was the resource person for the webinar. The resource person is our alumni and the event was organized as a part of Alumni contribution activity. The resource person was formally introduced to audience by Mrs. Chithra V. S. The webinar began by introducing industrial scope of Testing. The webinar progressed to introduction of various testing phases from basic introduction to present era where various present day development environments where introduced. He discussed about the working of various open source tools ApacheJmeter and Fiddler. The session was open for questionnaires from participants throughout the session and concluded with an interactive doubt clearance session.
Finally, the session concluded with inputs from resource person highlighting the need of testing in industry perspective. The session was very interactive and it was very useful to the participants. There were 100 participants from UG, PG and Integrated courses of Computer Science Department.
Outcome: Students learned the testing process usages in the Software field and Open Source Performance Testing to enhance the code capabilities.
