Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham took part in the presentation hosted by the UNESCO New Delhi Office flagship report entitled ‘Transforming MEN-talities – Gender Equality & Masculinities in India’, which took place virtually on June 20, 2021, from 4 PM to 5 PM IST.
This UNESCO report is the fruition of a year-long effort by the CWEGE research team led by Dr. Bhavani, Christopher Coley, and Kripa Gressel and draws from more than a decade of experience working in the gender equality field across India. Inspired by AMMACHI Labs’ and CWEGE’s research in vulnerability mapping, women’s empowerment, and community mobilization, the report offers a roadmap to stakeholders on how best to identify and then transform the expressions of masculinity that impede gender equality and women’s empowerment. It reflects both the UNESCO and Amrita mission to promote SDG 5 through holistic, compassionate, and collaborative means in order to help India overcome its challenges.
