Trained as an architect and urban planner, Prof. Hari Srinivas is currently Coordinator of the Global Development Research Center (GDRC) in Kobe, Japan. Before taking up the current post, he was Chief of the Urban Environmental Management Unit of the United Nations Environment Programme in Osaka, and Programme Associate at the United Nations University in Tokyo. He has a Masters degree in Urban Development and Management from the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok Thailand, and a Ph.D. from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan.
