Gurupoornima was celebrated at the Amrita Health Sciences campus on July 12, 2014. The events began with a ceremonial lamp lighting by Bri. Karunamrita Chaitanya. Dr. K. N. Unni, Principal, Amrita School of Dentistry spoke on the significance of gurupoornima following which Gurupaduka pooja was performed. As an expression of gratitude, the teachers were honored by the students. Matrupooja was also performed by the students as a token of love and gratitude towards their mothers.
