Amrita College of Nursing had bunched up a panel of experts from the nursing profession for sharing their experience with students. Dr. Suresh K. Sharma (Principal, AIIMS), Rishikesh and Dr. Jothi Clara J. Michael (Director of Nursing Parkway Health Care India) were the experts on the first day. They emphasized how nursing is different from medicine and how to become autonomous in our profession. Dr. Ramachandra (Former Professor and Principal, NIMHANS, Bangalore) and Dr. Sudhamani Amma (Retd. Chief Nursing Officer, SCTIMST) were the experts on the second day. Both of them encouraged the student nurses to come forward in the profession and update their knowledge. Ms. Dhanya R. Dharan (Nurse Practitioner, UK) and Mr. Aneesh R. Ravi (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Veteran’s Administration) were the Alumni who spoke on respective days. Both showcased the culture of Amrita and underscored the attributes they perceived from Amrita that helped them in working during the COVID-19 pandemic and other hurdles in their professional lives.
The students and the faculty were excited to attend the session by Mr. Madhu Bhaskaran (HRD Trainer and Personal Coach), who spoke on the topic “Prepare for a New Life”. He spoke about how to excel in life, the need for academic excellence, personal excellence and relationship excellence.
The college also released E-Magazine 2020 named ARPPANAM, which showcased the literary talents of the students. Prof. K. T. Moly (Principal, Amrita College of Nursing), unveiled the image of the Former Dean of Amrita College of Nursing, Prof. C. Chandrakanthi, who passed away on 8th August 2020.
