Dr. Dwayne Roach is an Associate Professor of Biology in the College of Sciences at San Diego State University. His research focuses on the complex interactions between hosts (both human and animal) and microbes, specifically bacteriophages and bacteria. He employs a multidisciplinary approach that integrates microbiology, immunology, genomics, bioinformatics, in vivo studies, and mathematical modeling, alongside clinical research. Dr. Roach earned his Ph.D. in Biology from Brock University in 2011, where his dissertation examined phage resistance in Erwinia amylovora. He has authored over 30 publications and has served as an advisor to more than 30 students. In addition, he has secured 21 grants and holds three patents, demonstrating his significant contributions to the field of biology.
