  1. Ms. Preetha P. K., Assistant Professor and Vice chairperson, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering successfully completed her Ph.D on the thesis titled “Drainage Power Recovery in Distribution Transformers”, from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in the month of February 2018. She received her degree from Dr. K. Sivan (Honorable ISRO Chairman) during Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s graduation ceremony on August 2018. Her thesis advisors are Dr. Manjula G. Nair, Professor & Chairperson, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Dr. Chandramohanan Nair, former Professor & Chairperson, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

  2. Faculty and Students of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department have published 69 scopus indexed research papers and also possess 300+ citations in the year 2018, among which some are published in international journals like PMME, IJET, International Journal of Renewable Energy Research and Procidea Computer Science. Remaining research papers are presented in reputed international conferences like ICCAR, IPACT, ICSCS, Tap Energy, ICICICT, IBIOMED etc.

  4. Dr. Manjula G. Nair, Professor and Chairperson of EEE Department chaired a session in 27th Swadeshi Science Congress held at Amritapuri Campus from Nov 7-9, 2017. She was the Conference Chair of IEEE International Conference “TAP Energy” 2017.
  5. Mr. Srikanth. V, Assistant Professor of EEE Department has attended the IAS Annual Meeting held at Cincinati Ohio, USA from 1st to 5th October 2017. This event is the IEEE Industrial Application Society’s attempt to bridge the gap between Europe and USA in terms of standards, vision of safety, etc.
  6. Dr. P. Kanakasabapathy, Associate Professor of EEE Department delivered an invited talk on “Market Operations in Restructured Power Systems – Smart Electricity Markets”, at AICTE-QIP sponsored one week short term course on Power Quality Issues and its Mitigation in Smart/Micro Grid System, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Coimbatore Institute of Technology on May 15, 2017
  7. Mr. Ilango K , Assistant Professor (Sr.Gr.) has been conferred with PhD from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham on August 2016 . Dr. Ilango’s PhD thesis was supervised by Dr. Manjula G Nair, Professor & Chairperson, Electrical and Electronics, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri.
  8. Mr. Meher Madhu D, Assistant Professor, Dept of Electrical and Electronics have filed for US patent on “ System and method for providing rapidness and precision in the control of robotic structure” in August with Application number:201641026765.
  9. Mr. Srikanth V, Assistant Professor (Sr.Gr), Dept of EEE has been featured in the IEEE Industry Applications Magazine July-August 2016 issue. He was spotlighted in the “Pathways”, a feature introducing the IEEE IAS young professionals.

  • Yashwanth Abhilash Karanam, BTech Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) student, has been selected as an Officer (Aeronautical Engineer) in The Indian Air Force. He secured an All India Rank 38. He will be joining the Indian Air Force Academy, Dundigal, Hyderabad, on January 16, 2022, for training. Read More

  • Dinesh Kumar C of 3rd year B.Tech Electrical and Electronics Engineering gave a staggering performance at the Inter Amrita Swimming Competitions held at Coimbatore campus on September 14, 20171. He won four prizes in the competition. The details are as follows:
