The faculty handling the subject are specialized in Vedantic studies, Yogic Science and Sanskrit. The first year students study a two credit course during both the semesters. Yoga classes are an integral part of the course.
The dimensions of Indian culture and values, Amma’s Life and Teachings, the Indian education systems through ages, the teachings of great seers and saints of India, essential lessons from Ramayana and Mahabharata, the essence of Bhagavad Gita, the evolution of Indian society and related topics are studied. Yoga classes provide training in Suryanamaskara, Aasanas, the deep relaxation technique, the Integrated Amrita Meditation Technique, breathing exercises and Pranayama.
