Edition 6 - April 2023 [Volume 1, Issue 6]

Dear Readers,

We are excited to present the sixth edition of our e-magazine, Rasatantra after a long break of two years. We are overwhelmed by the great interest, encouragement and very warm reception of our e-magazine.

The current edition contains four articles, related to diverse areas of chemistry, bioinformatics,and environmental science.
Dr. Stanimir Manolov, from University of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, has contributed an article on ‘nature inspired amide bond formation.’ The article discusses about the various bio-inspired methods utilized to make the amide bonds to get pharmacologically important molecules.

Dr. Renuka Suravajhala and Dr. Prashanth Suravajhala from Amrita School of Biotechnology, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri have contributed an article titled ‘Let’s (Approach) Bioinformatics-first’ which providesconcise guidance about the ever-enticing, booming filed of bioinformatics.
Mr. Saran S Kumar and Dr. Saritha A. of Department of Chemistry, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri contributed an article on ‘Vitrimers.’ The article discusses about the types, synthetic methods, versatile properties, and applications of vitrimers.
Ms. Lakshmi Krishnaa Suresh, Ms. Simi M. and Dr. Gopal K of Department of Chemistry, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri have written an article on single molecule magnets (SMMs), which provides a brief information about the theory involved and potential application of SMMs.

Dr. Sumith Satheendran S. of Department of Chemistry, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri has provided a wonderful article on usefulness of geographical information system for the chemical professionals.
Ms.Meenu Kumar and Dr. Naveen V. Kulkarni from Department of Chemistry, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri have contributed an article on the metal organic frameworks (MOFs), which discusses about the synthetic methods and application of MOF materials in brief.

Ms. S. Renjitha, Mr. Nakul S. and Dr. Naveen V. Kulkarni, from Department of Chemistry, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri have contributed an article which describes the origin, development and application of the deoxy-dehydrogenation reaction in the valorization of the biomass products.
