Two Types of Samadhi (Samprajnata and Asamprajnata) and their Characteristics, Attaining of Samadhi through Meditating on Iswara (God), Nature of Iswara (God), Cittaviksepas and the Manner of Overcoming them, Sabija and Nirbija Samadhi.
Five Klesas and their Nature, Conjunction of drsta and drsya as the root cause of ignorance, Kaivalya Results from Removal of Avidya, The Eight Fold Path Leading to Kaivalya.
Concentration of Citta on Various Entities and the Resulting Consequences, Eight Siddhis from Control over Citta and their Description, Kaivalya as Resulting only when the Siddhis are Transcended.
Practical: General Instruction in Practicing Yoga, Surya Namaskar, Various Asanas with Features.
“Yoga Philosophy” is a course offered to S3 MA Philosophy students. It aims to introduce theoretical aspects of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra with basic asana practices. The course provides a general understanding on Astangayoga. This course intends to give an interconnectivity between theory and practice of Yoga.

3. To give a systematic understanding on Yoga Sutra
4. To give an understanding on the effect of Yoga practice.
