Syllabus

Unit I

Introduction to Titling and VFX

Introduction to motion graphics. Importance of titles and VFX in storytelling, introduction to software tools.

Unit II

Basic Titling Techniques

Importance of typography in titling. Using color theory in motion graphics for creating effective titles. Classical styles in titling. Title animation principles: timing and easing. Types of titles. Software interface.

Unit III

Basic VFX Techniques

Understanding key VFX concepts: Masking, compositing, color grading, adding effects etc.

Unit IV

Advanced Titling and VFX

Basic animation techniques such as transformations and keyframing. Understanding the timeline and animation curves.

Unit V

Project

creating a short film or media piece incorporating the titling and VFX techniques.

Objectives and Outcomes

Objective:

The objective of this course is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and techniques used in titling and visual effects (VFX). The course aims to equip students with the skills necessary to create compelling titles and visual effects for various media platforms, using industry-standard software and tools.
