Objectives

The aim of the course is to introduce students to the Indian Literary tradition through the study of representative translated short stories from diverse parts of India and tomake them familiar with the morals and values held in high esteem by the ideals of Indianness.

Course Outcomes

  • CO1. Outline the contribution of regional writers from India to the genre of short story.
  • CO2 .Demonstrate an understanding of India’s multireligious, multicultural, and multilingual society.
  • CO3. Discuss the role of literature in reflecting and shaping social contexts.
  • CO4. Analyze the thematic and stylistic concerns in regional short stories.
  • CO5. Critically evaluate the development of literary sensibilities in India and the representation of social and cultural perspectives.
