Collective Bargaining and Grievance Handling

Concept and significance of collective bargaining in labour relations – the process of collective bargaining – negotiation techniques, and outcomes – grievance handling procedures – dispute resolution mechanisms – role in maintaining industrial peace.

Worker Welfare and Social Security Measures

Worker’s welfare measures – health and safety regulation – welfare amenities – benefits-Social security measures – provident fund – gratuity – employee insurance schemes – their implementation in the Indian context – challenges and reforms – enhance worker welfare – social security provisions.

Emerging Issues and Future Trends

Objectives and Outcomes

Course Objective:

The course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of industrial relations in the Indian context, focusing on the concept, historical evolution, stakeholders, and legal framework governing labour relations. Through an in-depth analysis of major labour laws, collective bargaining processes, and grievance-handling procedures, students will develop practical skills to navigate industrial disputes and maintain industrial peace.
