Understanding the basic properties of sound, its characteristics, and how it is perceived by the human ear. Understanding the principles of audio recording, different types of microphones, and their usage. Role of Audio in Multimedia Production and the importance of sound in storytelling and communication.
Unit II
Introduction to Video Editing
Understanding the concept of video editing, including the principles of continuity, pacing, and visual storytelling. Understand basic video editing techniques.
Unit III
Audio Editing Software and Techniques
Introduction to Audio Editing Software, learning to use audio editing software, understanding the interface, tools, and features, Learning Audio Editing techniques such as noise reduction, equalization, and compression, Hands-on Practice on advanced audio editing techniques.
Unit IV
Video Editing Software and Techniques
Introduction and use video editing software, understanding the interface, tools, and features, Learning Video Editing techniques such as color correction, transitions, and special effects, Hands-on Practice on advanced video editing techniques.
Unit V
Combined Output of Audio and Video
Integration of Audio and Video: Learning to combines audio and video elements to create a cohesive multimedia product. Final project that involves creating a short film or documentary using the skills they have learned throughout the course.
Objectives and Outcomes
Objectives:
This course aims to introduce students to the fundamentals of audio and video editing, The course will enable students to understand and apply basic editing principles. This course involves hands-on training, where students will learn to create compelling video stories for different digital platforms including broadcast media. By the end of the course, students are expected to achieve a level of proficiency that allows them to independently handle various editing tasks. This course serves as a steppingstone for students interested in further studies or careers in visual media, providing them with a solid foundation in audio and
video editing techniques. The course aims to equip students with the technical skills required to produce high-quality audio and video content and to appreciate the role of sound and visual elements in effective communication.
