Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI),Overview of artificial intelligence: history, concepts, and approaches, Introduction to machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing, Applications of AI in the media industry: content creation, curation, and personalization: Ethical considerations and challenges in AI integration within media contexts

Unit II

AI in Content Creation and Production: Automated content generation: text, image, and video synthesis, AI-driven editing and post-production techniques, Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) applications in media production, Case studies on AI-powered content creation tools and platforms

Unit III

AI in Content Recommendation and Personalization: Algorithmic content recommendation systems in media streaming platforms, User profiling and behavioral analysis for personalized content delivery, Dynamic pricing and targeted advertising using AI algorithms, Evaluating the effectiveness and ethical implications of AI-driven content recommendations.

Unit IV

AI in Journalism and News Media: Automated news writing and reporting using natural language generation (NLG), AI-powered fact-checking and verification tools for journalists, Sentiment analysis and opinion mining in social media and news content, Case studies on AI applications in newsrooms and media organizations.

Future Trends and Challenges in AI for Media: Emerging trends in AI for media: voice assistants, chatbots, and interactive storytelling, Implications of AI on media industry jobs and workforce dynamics, Regulatory frameworks and ethical guidelines for AI adoption in media, Discussion on future challenges and opportunities in AI-driven media innovation

Objectives and Outcomes

Course Objectives:

The course will enable the students to understand the fundamental concepts and approaches of artificial intelligence and its applications within the media industry. Students will be able to comprehend the various techniques and algorithms used in AI for media content creation, curation, and personalization and apply AI-driven tools and platforms for content creation, production, and recommendation within media contexts. The aim of the course is also to analyze the ethical considerations and challenges associated with the integration of AI technologies within media organizations.

CO 1: Describe the fundamental concepts and techniques of artificial intelligence and their applications in the media industry.

CO 2: Demonstrate an understanding of AI-driven content creation, curation, and personalization techniques used in media production and distribution.
