Syllabus

Unit I

Introduction into 3D Computer Graphics, Exploring UI, and three-dimensional Workspace. Understand Polygon and surface modelling tools and techniques. Modelling 3D assets for animation and Game art.

Unit II

Discuss basic material/surface properties. Understanding shader and basics shading attribute and texture maps.

Unit III

UV layout and Texturing, Ray tracing and rendering Reflection, Refraction properties. Understand Sub-Surface Scattering (SSS) material attribute.

Unit IV

Understand real life Light and shadow properties. Explore CG lights and their attributes. 3points lighting setup, Object Based Lighting, Image Based Lighting, Global Illumination and Final Gathering techniques, Ambient Occultation, Virtual camera and camera setup.

Unit V

Discussion on different rendering engines in brief. Understand Rendering in multi-passes and render and Render Layers. Object Importing – Exporting through different 3D applications and formats. Setup Project folder Project folder and Understand scene or object referencing technique.

Modeling, Texturing, Lighting and Rendering a 3D still life scene. Scene optimization.
