On September 7, 2019, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, celebrated its graduation day in the presence of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Chancellor Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma), Chief Guest Prof. Hemantha Kumar (Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore) and Guest of Honor, Dr. G. On July 17, 2019, Amrita School of Biotechnology, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham heartily welcomed its new batch of students in a unique induction program titled “Swagatham 2019”. The day commenced with the lighting of the lamp by each of the new students and placing it at the feet of the statue of Saraswati Devi, Goddess of knowledge, an age-old tradition symbolizing the absence of darkness and ignorance in the light of knowledge.
The national Virtual Laboratories project of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, along with IIT Delhi; IIT Bombay; IIT Kanpur; IIT Kharagpur and others, has been enhancing the laboratory education of students online for more than a decade.

Dr. Sanjay Pal, Associate Professor, Sanitation Biotechnology Lab, School of Biotechnology, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus, was invited to present a talk titled, “Complementary Approaches to Combat Antibiotic Resistance in Bacteria” at the Indo-UK Conference on Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases, held at Inter University Centre for Biomedical Research and Super Speciality Hospital (IUCBR & SSH), Kottayam, Kerala, from February 25-26, 2019.
