Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham faculty members was awarded a grant of Rs. 37.24 lakhs from the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) for developing a novel electrochemical packed bed reactor technology for removing heavy metals from water.
A cancer labelling fluorescent probe was designed by Dr. Sankarprasad Bhuniya, Research Professor at Amrita Center for Industrial Research & Innovation and Amrita Center for Excellence in Advanced Materials and Green Technologies, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, along with Nithya Velusamy and Kondapa Naidu Bobba, Dr. Nandita Mishra, Assistant Professor, Amrita School of Biotechnology and PhD students Divya Nedungadi and Anupama Binoy.
The Center of Excellence in Advanced Materials & Green Technologies and the Department of Chemical Engineering in collaboration with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering are organizing a 6-day National Level Hands-on Workshop on Nanomaterials and Nanocomposites from January 30th – February 4th, 2017 at Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore.
Dr. Sankarprasad Bhuniya currently serves as a research professor at Amrita Center for Industrial Research & Innovation and Amrita Center for Excellence in Advanced Materials and Green Technologies. He is also a professor in the department of Chemical Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore. During his visit to Amrita School of Biotechnology on December 9, 2016, he delivered an excellent,informative talk on Chemoselective Fluorescent Probe for Tracking of Small Molecule and Chemotherapeutic in Living Cells.
Dr. Dinesh Agarwal, Director of the Microwave Processing and Engineering Center at Pennsylvania State University (USA) gave a series of talks hosted by the Amrita Center for International Programs between December 21st and 26th, 2015 at the Amritapuri, Ettimadai, and Kochi campuses.
Dr. Millind Pimprikar, founder and chairman of CANEUS (Canada, Europe, US), an international organization that fosters the development of Micro-Nano-Technologies (MNT) for aerospace and defense applications headquartered in Montreal (Canada), recently visited the Amritapuri and Kochi campuses of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham from December 3rd – 4th, 2015.
