Amrita Wireless Center for Networks & Applications (AmritaWNA), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus (Kollam), organized a one day workshop on “Opportunistic Mobile Networks” on April 9, 2017. This workshop was organized for to PG students, research scholars and faculty members working in the areas of mobile computing, and Wireless Networks and Data Networking.
Dr. Maneesha V. Ramesh, Dean, International Programs and Director, Amrita Centre for Wireless Networks and Applications (Amrita WNA) represented Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham at the ‘Future of Education Summit’ held in Noida on 7th April, 2017.
As an effort of implementing the vision of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Chancellor, Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, (Amma), staff and students of Amrita Center for Wireless Networks & Applications (Amrita WNA) organized “Vishuthaineettam” for the 3rd year in a row. This year, the theme was, “I support One, Green and Clean World”.
A paper from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Amrita Center for Wireless Networks & Applications (AmritaWNA) was recently accepted for publication in Elsevier’s Journal – Energy and Buildings (Impact Factor: 2.973) – an international journal devoted to investigations of energy use and efficiency in buildings.
Prof. Ravindranathan Thampi, Associate Professor of Solar Energy and Vice-Principal of Internationalization in Engineering and Architecture at University College Dublin (Ireland), visited the Kochi and Amritapuri campuses from November 9th – 14th, 2016. During this time, Prof. Thampi gave talks, held interactive Q&A sessions, and visited several research centers.
Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications students and researchers won 1st prize in Maxim IoT Contest conducted at BIEC, Bengaluru on March 4, 2017.
Dr. Peter Struss, Professor, Model-based Systems and Qualitative Modelling Group, Department of Computer Science- Artificial Intelligence; Faculty of Informatics Techn. Univ. Muenchen (TUM), Germany, addressed the students and faculty of Amrita Center for Wireless Networks & Applications (AmritaWNA).
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham recently joined an International Consortium and won a grant for the project titled,‘Landslide Multi-Hazard Risk Assessment, Preparedness and Early Warning in South Asia: Integrating Meteorology, Landscape and Society (LANDSLIP).’
A healthcare research project at Amrita Center for Wireless Networks & Applications (AmritaWNA) has been focusing on developing affordable and indigenous sensors, healthcare data analytics techniques, and communication architectures for use in sparsely connected regions in India.
