Prof. Ravindranathan Thampi, Associate Professor of Solar Energy and Vice-Principal of Internationalization in Engineering and Architecture at University College Dublin (Ireland), visited the Kochi and Amritapuri campuses from November 9th – 14th, 2016. During this time, Prof. Thampi gave talks, held interactive Q&A sessions, and visited several research centers.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham recently joined an International Consortium and won a grant for the project titled,‘Landslide Multi-Hazard Risk Assessment, Preparedness and Early Warning in South Asia: Integrating Meteorology, Landscape and Society (LANDSLIP).’
A healthcare research project at Amrita Center for Wireless Networks & Applications (AmritaWNA) has been focusing on developing affordable and indigenous sensors, healthcare data analytics techniques, and communication architectures for use in sparsely connected regions in India.
The Instrumentation Development Program (IDP) of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India, has extended a 2 year grant of more than Rs 4 million for further development and creation of a viable remote ECG Monitoring system for postoperative and high-risk cardiac patients. As an industry partner, Amrita Technologies will be also be a contributing entity in this project. The project is being spearheaded by Dr. Maneesha V. Ramesh from AmritaWNA, Dr. Natarajan from AIMS and Mr. Pradeep Achan from Amrita Technologies.
Prof. (Dr.) Maneesha V. Ramesh, Director & Professor of Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications (AmritaWNA), attended TCS Sangam 2016, on 2nd and 3rd of December, 2016, at Hyderabad. TCS Sangam is an annual meeting of the Heads of Academic Institutes.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has become a partner of the International Consortium on Landslides (ICL). The International Consortium on Landslides (ICL), created at the Kyoto Symposium in January 2002, is an International non-governmental and non-profit scientific organization. The ICL established the International Programme on Landslides (IPL) as a programme of ICL by the 2006 Tokyo Action Plan.
Encouraged by Chancellor Mata Amritanandamayi, faculty, staff, and students from the Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications (Amrita WNA), the Department of Civil Engineering, the Amrita Center for International Programs and Live-in-Labs® at Amrita University, Amritapuri campus, have implemented a sustainable solution for water collection and distribution at Gudipadu Cheruvu, an ASeRve village.
Prof. Allan Bateman from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Catalonia, UPC Barcelona Tech, Spain, visited the Amritapuri campus in late April-early May 2016.
