The Corporate & Industry Relations (CIR) is a unique department of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi Campus, envisaged to provide training and expert guidance to students in areas beyond the academic curriculum to enhance and materialize their career dreams and ambitions.

The main functional units of CIR are Career Competency Development, Corporate Relations, and Internship & Placement. The department is well prepared to carry out these functionalities with adequate number qualified and experienced faculties and staff, in-house prepared up-to-date training material, industry connection and other infrastructure facilities.
In a constantly changing world, enhancing Life Skills enables one to meet the challenges of everyday life. The department of CIR train the students to cope with this fast pace. Life Skills Training consists of student-centric, activity-oriented training in Verbal and Communication Skills, Soft Skills, and Numerical Aptitude / Logical Reasoning Skills. Recognizing its importance, CIR has gone to the extent of making it as part of the curriculum with the courses spread over three semesters in UG and two semesters in PG programs. Well qualified and experienced in-house faculties handle these courses. We have in-house designed and developed curriculum and workbooks incorporating the latest industry trends.
Students are provided with Career Planning Guide from the beginning of CIR engagement, for them to set career goals and start preparing towards it under the guidance of industry experienced faculties. There are separate Career Planning Guides for UG and PG students.
We provide industry oriented technical training in the areas of IT / Digital Technologies to students of all related disciplines and those who are interested. The training puts more impetus on practice and problem solving than theory.
CIR conducts and facilitates industry-oriented certification programs both by internal faculties and reputed external agencies for the benefit of students. This is initiated from the very beginning of their academic life in Amrita.
One to one interaction with students helps the students and faculties to identify any impediment the student is facing in his/her course of studies. The department adopt measures to rectify the same and assist students to emerge successful.
For those students who plan to go for higher studies, CIR organizes training for the competitive examinations like CAT, GMAT, GATE etc. with the support of established external agencies.
During the pre-final year, CIR employs numerous training modalities to prepare the students for placement. These include Resume preparation, Mock tests, GDs, PoVs, JAM, Mock interviews, etc. We conduct preplacement training during the summer vacation and company specific training prior to a placement process to better prepare the students. We also conduct programs to improve the General Knowledge of students.
CIR arranges Industry Guest Lectures and facilitates signing of MoUs between Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and Industries. Guest Lectures by Industry Experts enable students and faculties to be at par with the latest trends in technology and domain areas. The MoUs are primarily aimed at faculty enablement and students’ learning and certifications.
Placements at Amrita have always been great. Students who are eligible and opt for placements have more than one job offer, on average. Our placement policy enables the students to sit for the placement process of dream companies, even if they have an offer in hand.
More than 120 companies, including Multinationals and reputed Indian Conglomerates, conduct campus recruitment processes every year for our students. Eligible students from all the streams of study under Amrita Kochi Campus successfully get placed with handsome pay packages. Our endeavor will be to increase the highest salary, average salary, and placement percentage year on year.
