Raagasudha

About

Raagasudha is the official western music club of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore.The activities of the club usually happen at the designated music room near the Anokha hub.We practice, jam and perform at various cultural events happening in the campus. We have alot of talented young individuals which comprises of vocalists, instrumentalists and Beat boxers. We perform songs in various languages including Hindi, English, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu.

The Music Club stimulates interest in classical music forms, both vocal and instrumental and provides them with opportunities to display their musical talents in music festivals like Thiagaraja Aradhana. Amritotsavam etc.

Elections – Jul 2023 – November 2023

Elections were held this year to elect the club’s core members.

Auditions

On October10^th and 11^th, Auditions were held this year to select new musicians into Raagasudha. The new musicians selected for our club are as follows:

Aarpo 2023 – Onam

• On 25^th August 2023, Raagasudha performed for the Onam Celebrations at the Pandhal –Auditorium
• The duration of the performancewas1 hourand30 minutes

Gokulashtami

• On September 12^th, Raagasudha performed for the Gokulashtami Celebrations at the Amriteshwari Hall.
• The performance was for 60 minutes.

Navaratri 2023

• On October 19^th, Raagasudha performed for the Navaratri Celebrations at the Amma’s Shrine
• The duration of the performance was 60 minutes.

Aalap 2023

• On November 2^nd 2023, Raagasudha hosted the event Aalap, the official induction program of the club, at the Amriteshwari Hall
• The duration of the performance was 2 hours.
